This artwork is a painting titled "Rocks and the Lighthouse, Biarritz" (also known as "Beach Scene" or "Lighthouse Walk at Biarritz") by the Spanish painter Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida, created in 1906. Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida (1863–1923) was a master of light known for his beach scenes. The painting depicts women and children strolling along the rocky coast and beach in Biarritz, France, a popular seaside resort area. The original oil on canvas painting is part of the collection at the Art Institute of Chicago.
