The exhaustion after a ball, painted by Ramon Casas, in 1899 in Paris. Ramon was a Catalan artist who lived through the turbulent history of his native Barcelona. He was known as a portraitist, sketching and painting the intellectual, economic, and political elite of Barcelona, Paris, Madrid, and beyond. This print is courtesy of the Monserrat Museum in Barcelona, Spain. The original is on loan to the Van Gogh Museum, in Amsterdam.
