At first glance, The Lawsons are refined, elegant, and utterly charming. Their faux bamboo chinoiserie frame, paired with original beveled glass tops, suggests a life of quiet sophistication. But don't be fooled—these two have seen things. Once stationed in the sitting room of a grand coastal estate, they played host to whispered secrets, clinking cocktail glasses, and the occasional scandalous rendezvous. Their glass tops bore the weight of pearl-handled lighters, half-finished novels, and an ever-present crystal decanter that seemed to refill itself. Guests leaned on them for stability when the room swayed just a little too much from an extra pour of brandy.

Time, like a good party, eventually came to an end. The estate changed hands, the velvet curtains were pulled down, and The Lawsons were cast aside—forgotten relics of a bygone era. That is, until now. Rescued, refinished, and ready to reclaim their former glory, The Lawsons are back. Whether by a bed or beside a sofa, The Lawsons' faux bamboo frame and beveled glass tops gleam once more. These tables aren’t just furniture—they’re storytellers, silent keepers of life's little indulgences, and ready for their next adventure.

Maker / Designer

Starting with just the chair, Thomasville expanded to a variety of furniture styles. They have released multiple collections over the years, some of which were inspired by the Art Deco movement, Hollywood Regency, and Ernest Hemingway. Additionally, their pieces emanate French provincial, Queen Anne, Chippendale, and the occasional Asian-inspired chinoiserie pieces.

Finish

We specialize in high gloss lacquer. We use a waterbased industrial wood lacquer coating, and every layer of primer, color and top coat is catalyzed. It is a very durable finish and will endure for decades with proper care.

Care

Our lacquer finish is catalyzed (2k) at every coat. It is a very durable finish and will endure for decades with proper care. We recommend dusting often and using coasters and protective felt feet on pointed objects.

For cleaning greasy finger prints or dirty smudges, this is the product we use for the "final finish". It is waterbased and will not react with our finish. Do not substitute with a solvent-based finishing spray.  We recommend both the Meguiars Final Finish and these microfiber cloths.

Do not use any cleansers with ammonia or other harsh chemicals, it will dull the finish.

Local Delivery within the Portland Metro Area is $200.00. Delivery can usually be arranged within a week.

Nationwide Shipping is provided by a private network of white glove shippers. Lead times range from 1-4 weeks depending upon season and distance. Pieces smaller than 30" on all sides can be shipped in a double-walled box via USPS, UPS or FedEx Ground. Arrival is usually within 14-21 days.
