Maeve is more than a china cabinet—she was an accomplice. Posing as a symbol of upper-class decorum, she aided a brilliant female operative who used the flip-down desk to plan her daring escapes and decode secret messages. Her drawers served as the perfect camouflage, hiding everything from encrypted documents to the occasional revolver (a lady must always be prepared). Now, Maeve has retired from espionage, but her elegance and history make her the ultimate conversation starter for those with an eye for drama—and a penchant for secrets.

The history of this piece is cloudy. We imagine this piece was in a dining room for a very long time through many meals, holidays, family moments.

Finish

We specialize in high gloss lacquer. We use a waterbased industrial wood lacquer coating, and every layer of primer, color and top coat is catalyzed. It is a very durable finish and will endure for decades with proper care.

Care

Our lacquer finish is catalyzed (2k) at every coat. It is a very durable finish and will endure for decades with proper care. We recommend dusting often and using coasters and protective felt feet on pointed objects.

For cleaning greasy finger prints or dirty smudges, this is the product we use for the "final finish". It is waterbased and will not react with our finish. Do not substitute with a solvent-based finishing spray.  We recommend both the Meguiars Final Finish and these microfiber cloths.

Do not use any cleansers with ammonia or other harsh chemicals, it will dull the finish.

Local Delivery within the Portland Metro Area is $200.00. Delivery can usually be arranged within a week.

Nationwide Shipping is provided by a private network of white glove shippers. Lead times range from 1-4 weeks depending upon season and distance. Pieces smaller than 30" on all sides can be shipped in a double-walled box via USPS, UPS or FedEx Ground. Arrival is usually within 14-21 days.
