This vintage botanical is a watercolor of the Lafayette plum (Prunus domestica), painted by artist R.C. Steadman (Royal Charles Steadman) on September 16, 1919. This artist was a prominent illustrator for the USDA Pomological Watercolor Collection. The original is currently preserved in the National Agricultural Library's rare collection.
