Walter

MID-CENTURY TRADITIONAL HIGHBOY DRESSER

Walter is a highboy dresser with an easy, understated charm, the kind of piece that feels right at home the moment it arrives. Walter brings refined proportions and subtle detailing that give you style options. You can embrace his clean transitional style, which features a slatted upper drawer and a built-in finger pull just below the top edge. Or, if you're attracted to the traditional turned legs, and the slatted drawers aren't your vibe; we can cover the slats and add hardware to that top drawer. Either way, Walter's got game. Five generous drawers, and ready to be refinished.

Walter is the kind of highboy dresser that commands a room without trying. Tall, stately, and built with the quiet confidence of a piece that's already lived a full life. He carries mid-century craftsmanship, solid construction, clean lines, and the kind of understated elegance that works in just about any room.

Walter is in production. He will have our high-gloss lacquer finish in Benjamin Moore's Gossamer Blue and new brass hardware.

Basic-Witz Furniture

Basic-Witz Furniture Industries, established in 1889 in Waynesboro and Staunton, Virginia, is a renowned American furniture maker celebrated for high-quality mid-century modern (MCM) walnut and burl wood casegoods. Known for designing "understated elegance," the firm was acquired by Stanley Furniture in the 1970s.

Best known for 1960s Mid-Century Modern designs, including buffets, cabinets, and dressers with high-end wood detailing like walnut and olive burl.

Pieces often feature solid wood construction with veneer, frequently using burl walnut and metal accents.

Noted Designer: Sanford Wallack designed for the firm, noted for his work on the "Anniversary Collection".

We specialize in high gloss lacquer. We use a waterbased industrial wood lacquer coating, and every layer of primer, color and top coat is catalyzed. It is a very durable finish and will endure for decades with proper care.

Our lacquer finish is catalyzed (2k) at every coat. It is a very durable finish and will endure for decades with proper care. We recommend dusting often and using coasters and protective felt feet on pointed objects.

For cleaning greasy finger prints or dirty smudges, this is the product we use for the "final finish". It is waterbased and will not react with our finish. Do not substitute with a solvent-based finishing spray.  We recommend both the Meguiars Final Finish and these microfiber cloths.

Do not use any cleansers with ammonia or other harsh chemicals, it will dull the finish.
