Once the centerpiece of a distinguished home office, he was nearly cast aside—unwanted, overlooked, left to fade into obscurity. But when the offer came my way, I did what any sane person with an appreciation for impeccable craftsmanship would do—I rescued him without hesitation.

Now William,(named after his prior owner's brother), is reborn in high-gloss lacquer olive green, a color as commanding as his presence. His modern sensibilities remain intact—a double-deep hanging file drawer for the organized, a pencil cradle for the detail-obsessed, and a stature that demands respect. Not to mention, he is fully finished on the back, ready to command the respect he deserves. His finishing touch? New square polished brass knobs—because even a classic deserves a little shine.

William isn’t just a desk; he’s an institution, a statement, a power move. Whether he’s presiding over your office or making a statement in your study, one thing is certain: he’ll never be overlooked again.

Maker / Designer

Founded in 1903, Drexel is known for its traditional and modern furniture. Drexel began hosting staff designers in the 1930s and explored styles such as French provincial, chinoiserie, Queen Anne, and Mediterranean. Though no longer in business, existing Drexel furniture is sought after for its evolutionary style and range of lines.

Finish

We specialize in high gloss lacquer. We use a waterbased industrial wood lacquer coating, and every layer of primer, color and top coat is catalyzed. It is a very durable finish and will endure for decades with proper care.

Care

Our lacquer finish is catalyzed (2k) at every coat. It is a very durable finish and will endure for decades with proper care. We recommend dusting often and using coasters and protective felt feet on pointed objects.

For cleaning greasy finger prints or dirty smudges, this is the product we use for the "final finish". It is waterbased and will not react with our finish. Do not substitute with a solvent-based finishing spray.  We recommend both the Meguiars Final Finish and these microfiber cloths.

Do not use any cleansers with ammonia or other harsh chemicals, it will dull the finish.

Local Pickup is always free.

Local Delivery within the Portland Metro Area is $200.00. Delivery can usually be arranged within a week.

Nationwide Shipping is provided by a private network of white glove shippers. Lead times range from 1-4 weeks depending upon season and distance. Rates are determined by weight, dimensions, and your location. This piece falls in the LARGE shipping profile for your zone. Check out the Furniture FAQs for rates and more information.

Pieces smaller than 30" on all sides can be shipped in a double-walled box via USPS, UPS or FedEx Ground. Arrival is usually within 14-21 days.
