What brands do you carry?

We hunt for a few select manufacturers or designers all the time. Drexel, Henredon, Thomasville, Stanley, etc. But now and then we find one that's new to us. We do our research and make sure it's what we want. We share that knowledge with you in the Maker tab of each and every product offered.

How does shipping work?

Local Pickup is always free.
Local Delivery within the Portland Metro Area is $200.00, Delivery can usually be arranged within a week or so.
Nationwide Shipping is provided by a private network of white glove shippers. Lead times range from 1-4 weeks depending upon season and distance. Rate is determined by your zip code, scale and weight of the piece.

Pieces smaller than 30" on all sides can be shipped in a double-walled box via USPS, UPS or FedEx Ground. Arrival is usually within 14-21 days.

What size nightstand works best with a queen or king bed?

The right nightstand height is determined by the height of your bed. Beds have many types of configurations, some do not accomodate box springs, while others do. Your best bet is to measure he height from the floor to the top of your mattress. Find nightstands that are the same height or lower by no more than 4". You do not what it to be higher due to the risk of rolling into that sharp corner while sleeping. The nightstand width can be whatever you have room for, there is no real standard.

Can I customize the hardware on a vintage nightstand?

Yes!

How deep are the drawers on a typical vintage nightstand?

They range, from 3" to 9" depending upon the style.

How do I care for a lacquered nightstand surface?

Our lacquer finish is catalyzed (2k) at every coat. It is a very durable finish and will endure for decades with proper care. We recommend dusting often and using coasters and protective felt feet on pointed objects. For cleaning greasy finger prints or dirty smudges, this is the product we use for the "final finish". It is water based and will not react with our finish. Do not substitute with a solvent-based finishing spray. We recommend both the Meguiars Final Finish and these microfiber cloths. Do not use any cleansers with ammonia or other harsh chemicals, it will dull the finish.

Can I use a small vintage dresser as a nightstand?

Yes!

What finish colors work best on a vintage nightstand for a bedroom?

The depends entirely on the style of your room. Also sheen makes a big difference. High gloss reflects a lot of light so even dark colors seem bright. A soft buttery matte in some instances may also be preferred.
