Freshley

In collaboration with artist Catherine Freshley, we present this one-of-a-kind vintage Henredon bookcase. This stunning #rheiloom includes a gorgeous signed canvas print of Catherine’s original painting, October Over Chehalem. This high quality canvas print reflects the original texture and brush strokes. You can read more about this collaboration in our CGS blog post here. The Freshley bookcase is actually two separate pieces, for easy moving and shipping. There are three shelves with new tempered glass and the original brass stays. The cabinet below is adorned with stunning original brass pulls and unique Henredon no-hole hinges. The brass has been cleaned and polished. The entire cabinet has generous space for display items and storage.

Please note the tabs below outline more detail about Freshley. This piece is vintage and has been loved by prior generations so minor imperfections may still be visible.

I do have 3 more rescued and unfinished bookcases like this if anyone would like to customize one.

Maker / Designer

Henredon furniture is characterized by a sleek and sexy aesthetic. Many designers have collaborated with the company, namely Dorothy Draper, Ralph Lauren, and architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Their pieces have a wide range of styles from the dentil motifs of the Taliesin Ensemble to mirrored room dividers in the 1970s.

Care

Our lacquer finish is catalyzed (2k) at every coat. It is a very durable finish and will ensure for decades with proper care. We recommend dusting often and using coasters and protective felt feet on pointed objects.

For cleaning greasy finger prints or dirty smudges, this is the product we use for the "final finish". It is waterbased and will not react with our finish. Do not substitute with a solvent-based finishing spray.  We recommend both the Meguiars Final Finish and these microfiber cloths.

Do not use any cleansers with ammonia or other harsh chemicals, it will dull the finish.

Local Pickup is always free.

Local Delivery within the Portland Metro Area is $200.00, Delivery can usually be arranged within a week or so.

Nationwide Shipping is provided by a private network of white glove shippers. Lead times range from 2-12 weeks depending upon season and distance. Rate is determined by your zip code at checkout.

Pieces smaller than 30" on all sides can be shipped in a double-walled box via USPS, UPS or FedEx Ground. Arrival is usually within 14-21 days.
